linseed oil

hi, how many of you guys apply linseed oil to ur cues ? if yes, how often do you do it?
will too much of it be harmful to the wood? any of you guys here can shed some light on the exact uses of lindseed oil?
i'v do use linseed oil on my cues every now . shaft feels very sticky during play the nxt day . takes a while for the wood to absorb the oil totally i guess?
