hi.
after playing snooker for a few months (pool for years) i would like to invest in a decent cue!
at the minute im using a maple cue that was passed down to me. I find it good for pool, but theres too much whip in it.
im looking for a quality cue that will last me years, but im not bothered about a fancy appearance.
what are the advantages and disadvantages of 3/4 joints and 1/2 joints? and which size tip would people reccomend? is there really any difference between a 9mm and a 10mm tip?
how much will i need to spend for something suitable?
im not wanting to go any higher than £100.
is there anything worth looking at under this price???
thanks!

Master Cue's all for under £100 these cues are effing excellent.
Most people including me prefer 3/4 joints theres no advantage/disadvantage.

Yeah I use the Master Cue Pro Butt 4

I wouldn't use any other cue. Also 2 of my mates have Master Cues 1 has a Master Cue Tournament and 1 has a Master Cue Classic which are under £100 and on that page I posted above and their great cues.

Not dealt with him but have heard from a few people that his cues are very good, and pretty cheap. Graeme Dott uses one and I think Maguire does too and they haven't done too badly in the game!

But was that the one he snapped at a petrol station?
If Maguire uses it then I wouldn't have any doubts

Thats right, you don't even have to be good at the game, these cues pot the balls for you, you just have to stand there and look good. Well, it has certainly worked for Dotty :p

LOL Dott has a pencil-like thin neck. With his head on top, it's like a pin. :D
However, his cueing does raise concerns (see my thread on why the cue deflects on contact with the cue ball).
