Below are the provisional results of the First Round Prediction Contest for the UK Championship.

Please check your score (and anyone else’s as you wish) and report any queries within 48 hours of the date/time displayed at the top of this thread. Any queries raised after this time will not be considered.

A quick reminder of the scoring for these longer matches: 2 points for the correct winner and scoreline; 1½ points for correct winner and scoreline one frame adrift; one point for the correct winner with other scoreline.

Please note that the Williams v. Dott match has been excluded from the contest, since they were not played to a conclusion, due to Dott's ill-health.

Therefore, provisional congratulations to MasterBreak147 for winning the round.

Please note also that Alex0Paul, highlander69, Wim, STEVE and the magicman all gained a bonus point (not included below but marked with a *) for correctly predicting the highest break of the round, which was 141.

Hm, I think MasterBreak147 should win this actually...

If I understand the rules correctly, the Williams-Dott match should not count towards the contest, as Dott conceded before the last frame. So if we're still both on 18 points after that, MB147 should win the first tie-breaker by 13-12.

Still a good score for me, too bad I ruined it in the 2nd round. :)

Please note that the Perry-Davis and Carter-McCulloch matches have been excluded from the contest, since they were not played to a conclusion.



From last years UK championship these matches were excluded (can anyone remember why?). So, I will re-jig the results then...

McCulloch was taken ill, so he conceded mid-match. Can't remember about the other one.

I'm dead last in the first column, but I will be for sure dead last in the second when R2 results are announced.. :)

This shouldn't have affected any of the previous prediction rounds because the UK is the first tournament where we have early rounds of best-of-17's. Semi's and finals of just this length should be calculated fine.
