This is the place to post links to webstreams of the China Open!

Probably many who don't have Eurosport or Eurosport Player can watch Chinese sports channel CCTV5 via SopCast or similar programs.

i seem to remember for the shanghai masters in october there was a site showing streaming of all the tables in round 1

hopefully the china open will be the same

Download the player and you should be able to Stream the China Open via the Chinese channels - CCTV5, CCTV-Sports, Shanghai Sports etc...with different tables. It's how I streamed it last year when I wanted to watch other tables other than the televised ones.

Would you be able to post a schedule - when Chinese channels will be showing snooker? It's difficult to work out using online translators :)

Are we going to see any of This tourno on youtube buddy?

Yes, here's what I've uploaded so far:
http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=CE4387EDA99F6664

It will be difficult to upload some of the earlier matches in the day because of the time difference between Shanghai and england. I think Shanghai is 7 hours ahead of england.

Normally, I would record and upload to Youtube, but 3am is just to late for me, and 5am is too early for me. Luckily, the Youtube user: snooker078 lives in Hong Kong, where the time is the same as ShangHai, so maybe he will upload those matches at 3am and 5am.

snookerfan, 3am in UK and 5am in Lithuania is the same time. We've got 2 hours difference from you, 1 hour difference from most of Europe.
good when tournaments are in china - 0730 am is a little early, 0930 not so bad anymore. but when something takes place in UK, and there are complaints that it lasted almost till midnight...thats almost till 2 am here :/

I caught some of the tournament on TVUPlayer last night starting at 23:30 Pacific Daylight Time (that's 08:30 GMT.. I think).

Does anyone know how long the feed from the Beijing Open runs? While I was watching they only covered one match... do they switch around occaisionally?

thanks for tolerating a newbie question
Don

PS will there be a similar internet TV feed for the World's at Sheffield?

darrus
1st April 2009, 10:25 PM
DonM, there are two Chinese sports channels you can get via TVU - CCTV5 and ShanghaiSports. Normally they show the whole matches from the beginning till they finish, and if their schedule is to be believed - they'll keep doing it till the end of the week.
There are two TV tables at this tournament. Normally CCTV5 will show one table and ShanghaiSports the other. But when Ding played his match and yesterday when Ronnie was playing, it was on both channels.
If this is the case, you can watch the other match that is on TV table here http://sports.sina.com.cn/z/snookerchn09video/
When the matches start, on this page there will be a black screen, and on the left - two arrows on pink background. You press an arrow - it starts showing one table. If you want to switch tables - press the other arrow. The stream goes ok, but it doesn't have sound.

I don't know if Chinese channels show World Championships, but I'm sure there will be streams from Eurosport and BBC available when the time comes.

Hope it helps :)

Thanks!

On more thing, I can't seem to work out how to use TVUPlayer. Shouldn't be any problems you might think but it is to me. Doesn't matter which channel I try, it doesn't start broadcasting. It says "Starting channel...please..." and the blue bar stops filling up at appr. 90-95% or something.

Any ideas?
