Hello,
I'm hoping someone can offer some advice regarding choosing a cue. I have played snooker on and off for around 5 years just using cheap cue from jjb. Oddly this have turned green over the years and has a big bend in the end. I want to start learning the game from scratch again and need a proper cue that is'nt going to warp. Budget is preferable < £80
Thanks,
Dave

I am about 6ft2. What are the general guidlines on cue length compared to height?

If the seller actually delivers the goods its a steal. judging by his feedback though I'd be reluctant to bid, you just can't trust some sellers on Ebay.

I'd look at a machine spliced Craftsman or Mastercue on that budget. You can still get something pretty decent at that price. Don't buy cues from sports shops though, they mainly sell cheap imported chinese rubbish that cost less than a fiver to make!

i considered a bid but then i have a friend who lives in p-dock who could ensure that i got the cue!

Thanks for the advice, I will have a look at the options. Is it advisable to get a larger tip for a beginner? I am thinking with a smaller one it would be easier to impart unwanted spin on the cueball?

U should look for a cue with 9.5 mm tip size and u can put on 10mm tip on it.After u got used to the cue and u feel confident that u are cueing well and not imparting any unwanted spin than u may trim down the tip to 9.5mm size.

Stuart Green of www.greenbaize.com is a great guy and he stocks lots of Master cues I am sure he will have a good quality machine spliced Master cue around the budget u are looking for.
